How to Create Roller Bottle Blends with Essential Oils

Don’t get me wrong, I love to just make it rain with oils. I usually put my finger over the top, turn upside down, flip it back over and slather the oils on my skin the ratchet way.

However, I have learned that it is a little more classy and normal looking to use a roller bottle. I don’t think I waste as much oil this way either.

This is usually one of the first questions I get from a new oil user- how do I make roller bottle blends (and use your really cute labels)?

They are super easy and there are so many fun blends to try. Set aside a day to have yourself a little roller bottle making party complete with a glass of wine, some popcorn, and no kids.

Dream on, sista.

You will need:

Roller Bottles (they come in various sizes but I use 10mL)

Fractionated Coconut Oil (or your choice of carrier oil)

A bottle open thingy (a fancy device to easily open your bottles)

A pipette (Usually comes with the roller bottles!)

A label (psst..go check out the shop!!)

Once you have #AllTheThings, decide what blend you are going to make. I have a handy dandy ‘Roller Bottle Recipes’ section you can check out! Check back often because I will be adding more recipes.

Use the magic bottle opener to remove the roller bottle lid and the essential oil bottle lid. Add your oils first.

I try to keep the amount of oil to under 30 drops. If I have a blend of 3 oils like my ‘seasonal relief’ blend, I will put 10 drops of Lavender, 10 drops of Peppermint and 10 drops of Lemon. I fill the rest up with the carrier oil, fractionated coconut oil.

Make sure to label your blends as you make them. You don’t want to be confused on which one is your ‘sleepy time’ blend and your ‘wake up’ blend. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Yes, you can drop the oils right into the roller bottle but I prefer to use the pipette. I think it goes a little quicker!

These rollers will last you a while so you don’t want to forget your blends when it is time to remake. Keep a journal of your blend recipes!

As a reminder, everyone reacts differently to essential oils. You may find you need yours stronger or more diluted.

Don’t forget to shake before each use!

CAUTION: Infants and young children should ALWAYS have diluted bottle blends. The recipes mentioned in this article and in the Roller Bottle Recipe section are for adults.
